We stay here at 2 or 3 times a year. I wouldn't consider staying any place else while in town.

Pros: George is an amazing person. The house keeping crew, also great! It is a quaint place in the middle of a German town. Great food and drinks within walking distance. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. It has an old world charm to it. When you vist this establishment, make sure to visit Bennie's Bar and Grill a couple of blocks down.

Cons: Nothing.

When can I go back?

Pros: Excellent historical property rebounding from Covid. Recently renovated and clean throughout. Each room unique.

Cons: Upgrade the pillows!

Genuinely friendly staff in a nostalgic building.

Pros: Quaint historic building, proud of it’s heritage. Staff was genuinely friendly and helpful.

Cons: Small rooms. Bathroom is very small. Turning radius to enter is very tight. Water in shower takes a while to heat up.

Pros: very charming with an old house coziness about it.

Cons: the website indicated a restaurant was attached but when I calle to check the hours they said it was closed. it worked out because we ended up at a little pub down the street that was just lovely

If you want an experience and not just a bed to sleep in the Sherman and Batesville, Indiana is your place.

Pros: The Sherman is a quaint 150 year old hotel (remodeled) in downtown Batesville, Indiana. The staff was very friendly . We enjoyed our 2 day stay as we sampled several privately owned and recommended local restaurants. The only disappointment I would say was that the hotel’s ,well known and classic, restaurant was closed - reportedly due to a lack of a proper staff.

Cons: There is no elevator to our second floor room, but we knew that when we made the booking
