A magical winter getaway!
Pros: Everything we needed was provided. Kitchen & bathrooms were well stocked. Loved that they provided so many towels and blankets and robes! The location was great. We loved that it was pretty private and quiet. The owners communicated super promptly. Loved that they had games and books and loved the hot tub and fireplace. Appreciated that the driveways were plowed after it snowed. Everything was very thoughtful and cozy.
Cons: The only minor thing was we couldn’t figure out some of the operations on the hot tub; we think some of the jets weren’t maybe working 100%. So just a very small thing that either needed additional instructions or it’s a new issue or it was just user error. Lol! But we loved the hot tub availability and experience overall.

This was a restorative family retreat!
Pros: Such a pleasant property - we stayed for 2 nights and easily could have stayed longer. The cabin was cozy and felt like visiting the cabin of a generous and stylish family member. With 2 adults and 2 kids, there was space to spare for us. Our young kids loved the bunk beds, the dollhouse, and sitting at the kitchen island to help with meal prep. We loved the fire pit, wood stove, comfy beds, forest views, and the QUIET!
Cons: The kitchen is very well-outfitted overall, so this may be a bit \

Overall it was excellent and we would definitely return again if in the area.
Pros: Gorgeous location. Beautiful design. The kitchen was well supplied and we took turns cooking some lovely meals.
Cons: Dirty wet towels were sitting in the washer and there was no laundry detergent so we went and bought some.

Idyll Reserve is a beautiful setting in the Hocking Hills area with hosts who are easy to communicate with, and would re
Pros: The location was great and we had plenty of room for our family (6 adults, 2 toddlers, 2 dogs). We also appreciated the ability to bring our dogs and the serene backdrop. While there are other cabins relatively nearby, they are not right next door. There is enough distance between the cabins to feel you have your own space.
Cons: The kitchen is aesthetically beautiful. It was one of the highlights from the website photos that attracted our family. We selected the largest cabin option to accommodate our family size (The Cabin - #3), but as the largest option, the layout is not very functional for a larger group or family. A few examples include: - The refrigerator is not full size. (The size reminded me of my college dorm version, but a built-in version.) Bring your own coolers if needed and ice because there is no ice maker. - Cabinet doors located on one side of the island are blocked by 3 stools while doors on the other side can only be accessed if not utilizing the dishwasher, garbage/recycling cabinet, or third cabinet door opposite island. - The dishwasher bottom rack accommodates slim profile plates. It does not fit the plates that are available in the cabin well which made it difficult to load the dishwasher properly. The rack was also missing a wheel which added to the difficulty with the weight of plates when loaded. The dishes are very nice, but not easily loaded into the dishwasher. In addition to kitchen function, we found various items that needed some attention (whether simply supply, maintenance, or a missed item on the “cleaning checklist”). A few examples include: - Silverware drawer stocked with forks and spoons, but only 2 knives (and 1 steak knife). // We reached out to the property upon discovering this when we arrived and did receive 5 additional knives on our doorstep the following day. - Smoke alarm beeping with “low battery” warning upon entering the cabin. // Maintenance was notified and addressed same day. However, the beeping did return again the following day. - We were provided one single (already open) roll of paper towel. With a group of 8 for 3 nights, a backup roll should be available. - The outdoor furniture and grill had not been cleaned or wiped down.

Perfect complement to the glorious outdoor surroundings- whether you’re a hiker or hot tuber!
Pros: The location was idyllic, secluded and picturesque.
Cons: My only request, if I had to be picky, would be firmer pillows!

We enjoyed our time in the Hocking Hills !
Pros: The setting in the trees was beautiful. The ultra modern nature of the villa was interesting. It was somewhat remote from restaurants, but was in close proximity to the state lodge for food and hiking trails and caves.
Cons: There was a plumbing issue that kept us from enjoying the shower/tub. Owner was notified, and will take care of it.
