Oglebay Resort

A nice overnighter for me.

Pros: Superb ambience, great views, comfortable room, friendly staff and good food and beers, all at a very reasonable rate.

Cons: Tricky to actually find the lodge, not useful signage for someone (like me) who's not been there before.

Worth exploring further

Pros: Definitely the location and the activities that one can do, for all ages. The staff were kind and attentive. The environment was peaceful Gym was clean and the view from it is great.

Cons: That I was allocated a room that was closest to the vending machines room and there was a lot of noise coming from it. For someone who was travelling international, it was too loud.

Pros: Breakfast was delicious! Also love the pool love the live entertainment/ glassworks grill pizza very good - very friendly bartender

Cons: Trolley to see lights was nice but was a little confusing with pricing phamplet stated. $20 per person but when I went to order tickets was told $30 - the guide was very entertaining-

Pros: we enjoyed the indoor pool,the holiday buffet also.

Cons: the breakfast buffet hours should be extended,we missed it!

My stay was everything I wanted for a last minute decision for a trip

Pros: I really enjoyed the location and are considering coming back during the summer. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was comfortable and in a good location.

Cons: There wasn't really anything that i can think of that i didn't like.

Our stay was lovely

Pros: Beautiful hotel. Comfortable rooms. Good location and price. Nice activities and amenities.

Cons: Warmer pool. Slightly cleaner room. Slider locks on suite doors (entrance and balcony).

Fantastic

Pros: I gave all the best ratings, but it’s accurate. The resort really did exceed my expectations and my family loved it too. I can’t wait to come back and golf (we did not golf this time) We plan to make Oglebay a regular destination for us.

Stunning location

Pros: Fantastic location for the Saint Bernard National - a week of canine activities. Room was very comfortable and all the staff I met were very helpful and friendly. Food was excellent. The grounds are superb and so well maintained and the ganging baskets were stunning

Lovely grounds with walking trails, relaxing visit, would come back.

Pros: Room was cozy. Bed was comfortable. Beautiful grounds/outdoor patio with live entertainment, excellent cantina food/drinks/ dessert! Lodge is beautiful inside, with several lovely sitting rooms, conference rooms and a pool.

Cons: Breakfast buffet was average. Seated in dark bar area when asked if we were on “the breakfast plan” (no), missing the stunning dining room views. Room/bed well-appointed, but had a slight odor of wet dog upon entering. Pretty sure a pup had been the previous guest…. Allergic animal lover—pet friendly rooms should be kept for guests with pets. I’ll ask ahead next time…

Pros: It was a wonderful place and everybody was very nice. The food was excellent and we really enjoyed our room. Right outside our window we were lucky to see a mother dear and her twins. What a thrill! We will definitely recommend this to our friends and family and we'll come back ourselves.
